Bus
MTA bus departures connect the International Airport and downtown Nashville
between the hours of 8:13 am and 10:35 pm weekdays; departures at varying times on
weekends. Fare is $1.30 each way, exact change required. The ride takes approximately 30
minutes. Downtown departure is from Shelter C on Deaderick Street. For schedule

The General Jackson Showboat, a $12 million four-deck paddlewheeler that brings back the
bygone days of riverboat entertainment, offers a variety of cruises on the Cumberland
River. Morning, midday, evening, Southern Nights and special theme cruises are available.
Holiday cruises are scheduled in November and December.
Each cruise features live entertainment. Steve Hall, Shotgun Red and the Shotgun Red Band
perform in the Victorian Theater during the two-hour daytime cruises. Guests are
entertained by an elaborate musical stage production during the three-hour evening
cruises, which include a three-course meal. Strolling entertainers and bands play outside
on the boat's four decks in the summer.
Tickets (1996 prices): Daytime cruises are $17.95; evening cruises are $45.95 plus tax
(includes gratuity). Optional buffets are available on daytime cruises. Southern Nights
cruises are $17.95 plus tax, and an optional steak dinner is available for $18.95 plus
